THE NEW ORGAN IS ON IT'S WAY....
Slight controversy: Should the choir and organ stay upstairs in the balcony? Or should they be moved down to the front of the church? What to do? A committee of course!
An Organ Placement Committee was formed to discuss the pros and cons of keeping the organ and choir in the rear balcony or moving them to the front.
The members of this committee were:
- Mike Kennedy, chair
- Annette Smith
- Mary Scherer
- Marlene Davis
- Claire Binford
- Sandra Sharman-Price
- Jeanette Waldrop
- Valerie Thomas
- Alan Henderson
- Jamie Nevil
- Jordan Gunter
- Leo Parrish
- Pamela Radford, ex-officio
- Rev. Timothy Bauler, ex-officio
The committee met several times to discuss in depth the placement of the new organ. The committee wanted the Congregation to have input in this decision. So, an informational meeting was held one Wednesday evening after Family Night Supper. The committee had constructed a cardboard replica of the organ console so the congregation would have a visual representation. The feeling of the congregation was that they did not want to make any changes to the sanctuary at that time. The general consensus was
that due to the impending organ delivery there was not enough time to undertake a re-modeling of the sanctuary.
